Hello all, o7

I am new to the forums, I registered after hanging out on the IRC for a bit. Some of you may have noticed I have already made a few posts on the forums. I decided I may as well introduce my self while I am at it.

I am currently attending the Art Institute of Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada for Game Design. I worked with UE2 and am now getting into UE3 a fair bit. I am by no means a expert, lol me an expert, but I am a quick learner and have a passion for this. I do know some scriptting for other laungeges and am still trying to learn Kismet. The hardest part is just learning all of the nodes and what they do, working on it though.

I do hope to be fairly active on the forums and the IRC so I will see you all there. Also if you need any help with things here on the web site let me know. I may not have much time due to school but am willing to put some time aside for this. I know some web development and run my own forums so I am an ok moderator. As I said just let me know if there is anything I can do and I hope to meet more of you soon.

Hi im Benzie from the Iron Europe mod team. im a newbie modeller from Scotland and have been lookin at mapping with the Unreal Editor for UT3 lately. i use Blender 2.48 to model and have started learning to use Zbrush also. i'm currently waiting for a reply, from Aberdeen College, about the 3d animation course i applied for. i hope to one day enter the games industry.

Sup, everybody. I'm Twiggy, and I'm a PC. I'm mainly a level designer by choice, but I'm currently dabbling in modding. If you want to see my work, check out the screens for my next map, a UT3 port of Rankin. Tongue

Hey you guys!

I've been modding Battlefield 1942 for the last two years and through that time I've learned tons about 3d models, textures, and mapping. even though I'm only 15 i'm a decent modeler:
.
my main reason for wanting to mod Ut3 is that I'd like to be able to use it's engine as it can render great quality textures. I can't wait to start out. thanks for the welcome.

hello everyone,

this looks like a great community you have here. i hope i can contribute in some small way to what you have.
i started mapping in 2005. i've made maps for HLDM, HL2DM, F.E.A.R., HL2DMPro, Crysis Wars and CoD4.
i've made two UT3 maps in the last two days.

UT3 is a great game.
i enjoy playing it.

Im new to UE3 maping, texturezing and mesh building. Bin mapping for a few games such as Age of Mythology, War Hammer, ECT all novice games. here is some of my lame work, hence why i need help.

Going to work at Ubisoft Montreal soo so I thought i'd get a jump start on level desigh and modeling. Any help somone can offer (Preferibly information reguarding a proper 3D modeling tool) is much appreciated.

Hello,

New to the site, a forum noob in general, but I've got some UT3 stuff I've been working on that i wouldn't mind letting people tear apart, or have some fun with.

I'm having a little trouble posting a link to my map Download... I keep getting the same "Warning Downloads path is not writable! /home/theforge/public_html/downloads/"

the link works... anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Hello everyone Sinji-(DoG)- aka Sinji_dog is in the house. I was wondering if theres any moddelers interested
in making furniture for DM-ZahlKind / UT3. I want to bring the map a little closer to real. I need furniture for a doctors office, bank, apartment and condo building, train station, cafe, and dance club, the main geometry is done i'm meshing it up now, some furniture would be nice in the map, would be nice to have a not so futuristic sniper rifle, like the older style with a small flash and no lazer, Thanks , have a great 2010

Hello, guys. I'm Louis Chen from China. I'm using UT3 to build a simulation environment for my robot. I'v done some job in UT 2004, Physical simulation is my most interested part, since I need to make the simulation as real as possible. Hope that we can have a good time with UT3.

Hey There everyone.

I'm just starting out studying games, music and sound in games in particular and I'm absolutely new to using an Engine of any kind. Slowly working through the video tutorials and having fun.

It's good to have a community to learn from. I doubt I'll be posting a mod for a while though. Gotta learn the ropes first.

I do have one very stupid noob question though. Due to some wrist movement health problems I always use a trackball instead of a mouse. No big deal usually except it only has two buttons (No Middle Button). Is there any macro or other way I can use the measurement tool without using the middle mouse button?

Thanks and Hi.
Ramsy.

Hello. I am still new to forums since usualy I just busy shooting or racing people on the internet not talking to them.
I have used several programs before, including Key Creator, Chief Architect, Maya, and have watched enough Youtube videos to be able to pick almost any mapping software in a couple days.
As soon as I get my new computer I will start mapping and this seemed like a good website to place my levels for download. Grin

Hi, Sjosz here, I've recently re-discovered my membership here (and moderatorness) when someone reported a spam post. I occasionally do some homebrew experiments of my own with UE3, but most of my time spent with it is at work, designing levels at BioWare. Happy modding!
